FIDHING IS STILL VERY GOOD ON AREA LAKES. THE PAN FISHING WAS GOOD AT ENEMY SWIM LAKE AND THERE WERE SOME NICE CATCHES OF WALLEYE FROM BITTER LAKE. WAUBAY LAKE PRODUCED SOME NICE RESULTS FOR SOME. THE SHORE FISHING FROM BITTER LAKE HAS REALLY PICKED UP WITH SOME REALLY GOOD RESULTS ON WALLEYE IN THE EVENINGS.

State Fishing Reports

Day County Fishing Report (week of July 21, 2014)

Bitter:  Anglers are mainly catching smaller Walleye measuring 13 to 14 inches. Occasionally, anglers are catching a few nice keeper Walleye.
Waubay:  Fishing pressure remains minimal with anglers catching a few Walleye, Perch and Bass.
Reetz:  Little activity.
Lynn: Anglers have been catching some nice Walleye, Perch and the occasional Musky.
Pickerel: Little activity.
Enemy Swim: Anglers are having good success catching Bluegill with the occasional Walleye and Bass.
Blue Dog:  Anglers are mostly catching smaller Walleye and Northern Pike.
Rush:  Fishing pressure has slowed, but anglers are still catching a few nice Walleye

Ice fishing off to early start

  Our cold finish to fall has given ice fishing a jump start in the state.
  Ice shacks and pickups dot the landscape in Day County.  Frank Meyer drove from Nebraska to join. This is earlier than he usually starts ice fishing.
