Day County Fishing Report (week of July 21, 2014)

Bitter:  Anglers are mainly catching smaller Walleye measuring 13 to 14 inches. Occasionally, anglers are catching a few nice keeper Walleye.
Waubay:  Fishing pressure remains minimal with anglers catching a few Walleye, Perch and Bass.
Reetz:  Little activity.
Lynn: Anglers have been catching some nice Walleye, Perch and the occasional Musky.
Pickerel: Little activity.
Enemy Swim: Anglers are having good success catching Bluegill with the occasional Walleye and Bass.
Blue Dog:  Anglers are mostly catching smaller Walleye and Northern Pike.
Rush:  Fishing pressure has slowed, but anglers are still catching a few nice Walleye

Ice fishing off to early start

  Our cold finish to fall has given ice fishing a jump start in the state.
  Ice shacks and pickups dot the landscape in Day County.  Frank Meyer drove from Nebraska to join. This is earlier than he usually starts ice fishing.

   By all accounts, it seems like this is one of those years that folks will talk about for a long time when it comes to fishing in South Dakota.
  Statewide reports indicate that anyone willing to wet a line is having good luck, and the lakes in Day County are no exception.
